The historic steam train departs from Régua (about 90 minutes from Porto by regular train) and runs along the river to Pinhão through terraced vineyard scenery that older kids genuinely find impressive. Book tickets well in advance as the historic train runs only on select days, though the regular scenic line is also beautiful and runs daily.
